House SupervisorThe House Supervisor is responsible for arranging placement of patients being admitted or transferred in accordance with specific unit protocols, staff competency, patient needs, and staffing patterns. The Supervisor will act as a liaison for Directors/Managers and facilitate optimal outcomes for issues that may arise on the unit. The candidate will also assist with oversight of Float Pool staff schedule to maintain balanced support for units and compliance with commitment.
EssentialJob Duties
- Complete assessment of hospital staffing needs and staff according to acuity using department matrix guidelines; review contracted staff usage and compare to departmental position controls.
- Manage and lead efforts to reduce contract staff use; report data through appropriate channels.
- Round on all units routinely to evaluate patient, staff, and physician needs and respond appropriately to requests.
- Assist with and/or perform discharge process.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility.
- Experience as a Charge RN preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
- Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
- Current BLS Certification (obtained through AHA).
- Current ACLS Certification (obtained through AHA).
- CPI Certification obtained within first 90 days of employment.
