Job Description

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. The role creates exceptional value by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted high‑quality eyewear that exceeds customers’ expectations.

• Welcome all customers and set expectations
• Custom‑fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions into lenses
• Act as a leader in optical acumen
• Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
• Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions
• Use technology accurately under time pressure and high customer volume, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and appropriate tool use
• Proactively explore root causes of issues, forward‑think, ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations, and be solution‑driven
• Multi‑task, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies
• Take pride in store appearance, help keep the store clean, attractive and organized
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices
• Be resourceful and self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement and results
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions and inventory management

• High School graduate or equivalent
• State licensure
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Strong basic math skills
• Awareness of current fashion trends
• Sales skills – ability to use an iPad/tablet
• Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators
• Embrace new technology and change

• Previous customer service and retail experience

Employee pay is determined by geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, employees may be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
