Job Summary

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Guiding high‑end clients through a premium sales experience.
  • Creating inspired spaces with world‑class furniture and décor.
  • Curating luxury looks while earning commissions with no ceiling.
Compensation
  • Training Pay: $21.00 per hour for 2‑6 weeks (no commission).
  • Post‑Training Pay:
    Base pay $18.00 per hour plus commission on written sales.
  • Commission: UNCAPPED—3% on La‑Z‑Boy Design sales and 2% on other sales.
  • Bonus opportunity: up to $1,500 quarterly based on individual sales goals.
  • Average annual earnings after training: $45,000–$65,000+ (base, bonus, commission).
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales and contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services.
  • Promote the Design program and support the Designer to achieve sales goals.
  • Execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process and provide a favorable customer experience.
  • Develop sales skills including rapport building, needs discovery, presenting customized portfolios, and closing.
  • Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge of existing and new lines.
  • Schedule and conduct professional home consultations for customized room designs.
  • Support design‑related functions in the store.
  • Use the Podium system for customer satisfaction and follow‑up.
  • Handle customer calls, emails, and complaints, providing suitable solutions.
  • Train, coach, and develop new peers on product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Assist with visual merchandising, store cleanliness, and product catalog maintenance.
  • Accurately complete order information, deposits, fees, and records.
  • Schedule and coordinate deliveries.
  • Open and close the store as required.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior sales experience and ability to close sales are strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion/negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities.
  • Team‑player with a proactive work ethic.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Repeated hand motions, hearing and listening requirements.
  • Occasional sitting, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Work inside environmental conditions.
  • Background and drug‑screen clearance required.
