Our comprehensive range of services encompasses installation, inspection, maintenance, and facility and equipment management in the Mining, Forestry and Oil and Gas industries. Edgewater Industrial employs Pipe fitters, Electricians, Pressure Welders and Gas Fitters.

Job Type: Full-Time / Project Assignment

Work Schedule/Shift Rotation: 14/7 rotation

Hours per Day: 10 hours per day (7:00 am to 5:30 pm - 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)

Position Summary
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for directing and supervising all electrical construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards.

Scope of Work
Installation of with New Processing Equipment and Systems.

Key Responsibilities

Pull electrical work permits.

Manage and supervise electrical construction project from start to finish

Conduct quality control inspections to maintain high standards

Ensure compliance with state safety regulations

Lead crews in planning and execution of work fronts

Develop/maintain Inspection and Test Reports pertaining to high-voltage electrical items such as transformers, motors, gear switch, etc.

Developing site electrical practices as needed for state requirements

Oversee and mentor site electricians

Other duties as assigned

Safety and Environmental Leadership

Promote and enforce a strong safety culture

Ensure compliance with Site safety programs and permits

Lead daily toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)

Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation

Coordinate electrical activities with:
Mechanical installation (tanks, reactors, filters, pumps)

Structural steel and pipe rack installation

Electrical and instrumentation teams

Subcontractors and vendors

Support short-interval planning and schedule tracking

Identify manpower, material, or equipment constraints and expedite early

Cost and Resource Management

Manage labor productivity, equipment utilization, and materials to meet budget and schedule targets

Support field cost tracking, forecasting, and progress reporting

Review and approve timesheets, crew allocations, and equipment needs

Leadership and Communication

Lead and mentor electrical foremen, supervisors, and craft personnel

Maintain clear communication with:

Construction and project management

Engineering and QA/QC teams

Client and owner representatives

Provide regular progress updates and actively participate in coordination meetings

Leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, vital for building a cohesive, efficient, and motivated construction team

Strong problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail

Ability to build strong relationships and foster a culture of safety, integrity, and teamwork, essential for maintaining a positive and productive work environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, alongside the capacity to quickly adapt to computer software programs necessary for managing employee administrative tasks such as timecards

Demonstrated stress and time management competencies, crucial for managing the demands of a high‑pressure work environment

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

Red Seal or Journeyperson Electrician Certification

10+ years of experience in industrial electrician construction

5+ years in a superintendent or senior supervisory role

Valid driver's license

Strong experience with:

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and construction drawings

Proven leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of construction estimating and budgeting process

Familiar with quality control procedures in electrical work

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Experience in material tracking, handling, and preservation

Certifications (Asset):

First Aid / CPR

Confined Space, Hot Work, and Chemical Handling training
