Senior Staff Accountant – Lease Accounting Focus
A privately held, PE‑backed company in the consumer‑services industry is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join a stable, collaborative accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys steady, detail‑oriented work and wants a long‑term role with supportive leadership and consistent responsibilities.
This position focuses heavily on lease accounting
, lease liabilities
, payment processing
, and general ledger reconciliations
.
- Manage lease accounting activities, including ROU assets, lease liabilities, and journal entries (ASC 842).
- Enter new leases and maintain accurate lease schedules.
- Process and monitor lease‑related payments (rent, CAM, etc.).
- Handle daily payment transactions, including EFT and credit card reconciliations.
- Perform GL account reconciliations and assist with month‑end close.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Support audit requests and participate in special projects as needed.
- Strong GL accounting background.
- Someone seeking stability rather than rapid career advancement.
- Extremely detail‑oriented and dependable.
- Comfortable owning recurring processes and completing daily transactional work.
- Experience with payment processing and reconciliations.
- Open to candidates without a bachelor’s degree if they have substantial experience (accounting coursework preferred).
- Knowledge of lease accounting (ASC 842); training provided.
- Experience with Lease Query or other lease accounting software.
- ERP experience.
