A growing, multi‑state construction and development firm is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to join its Phoenix‑based finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, and multi‑entity financial management. The position works closely with executive leadership and offers clear growth potential into Controller or Assistant Controller‑level responsibilities.

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close
• Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities and states
• Perform construction job cost accounting, ensuring proper cost allocation and project tracking
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job cost reporting
• Support year‑end audits and tax preparation
• Help improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to support leadership decision‑making

• 5+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting and job costing
• Hands‑on experience with Sage 300 / Timberline
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities
• Solid understanding of the full accounting lifecycle
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting proficiency

• Construction accounting experience

• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving ability
• Clear communicator who collaborates well across teams
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
