Accountant, Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting

Role Summary

Salary: $67,200-$79,800; bonus eligible.

The Staff Accountant will perform complex work assisting in the maintenance of the company’s accounting systems and various platforms. This position works under the direction of the Controller and with the company’s departmental management and functional leaders to maintain sound accounting practices and teach employees the importance of stewardship and strong financial practices.

• Oversee accounts payable, receivables, and other accounting-based operations.
• Analyze major accounts and prepare monthly reconciliations of subsidiary accounts to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy of all general ledger accounts.
• Develop and implement record-keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to billing, processing payments, and other accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Maintain adequate knowledge of OBeer ERP and Toast, and perform overall system maintenance.
• Execute SOPs for purchasing, procurement, accounting, and financial controls.
• Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, suggesting appropriate corrective procedures.
• Train staff on sound accounting practices and relevant SOPs.
• Communicate, coordinate, and train accounting policies, practices, and procedures with employees, officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public.
• Reconcile inventory and help ensure proper inventory control processes, uploading counts and reviewing variances in a timely manner.
• Assist in time-sensitive month-end close for the craft brewery and support any federal, state, local, or internal audits of company policies, procedures, or transactions.
• Perform any other tasks assigned.

• Undergraduate degree in a business field, preferably Accounting, or related experience.
• 2+ years of accounting experience providing information to management.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• Experience with SAP accounting software preferred.
• Experience with Toast restaurant software preferred.
• Beer-industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced formulas and Pivot Tables.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of database software, internet software, inventory software, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently or in group settings.
• Positive attitude and a continuous mindset of contributing to a positive company culture.
• Ability to perform work primarily in a sitting position with frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting.
