Salary Range: $82,678.75 - $. Final salary is dependent on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Job Description

This position supports the accounting function of the credit union by preparing financial statements, board reports, and regulatory reports. It involves maintaining the general ledger system and various subsidiary ledgers such as fixed assets and prepaid assets. The role also delivers excellent service to members, employees, and business associates, demonstrating Tru West’s values.

Education

A bachelor's degree or equivalent formal certification recognized as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

Experience

Three to five years of similar or related experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Solid working knowledge of general accounting practices and general ledger maintenance.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, and work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Data Watch Monarch, Velixo or equivalent software.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem‑resolution, and process‑improvement skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reconcile the Corporate Credit Union account and Federal Reserve account
  • Prepare month‑end financial statements and board reports
  • Prepare month‑end journal entries including expense and income accruals
  • Prepare state, federal and regulatory reports (5300 CALL Report)
  • Maintain fixed assets and prepaid subsidiary ledgers
  • Analyze and reconcile specific general ledger accounts to include loans and shares, auto loan participations, and dealer chargebacks
  • Record and balance monthly cash‑flow settlements received from the servicer on mortgage loans
  • Analyze transactions integrated from the core system to the Acumatica Accounting system
  • Maintain GL accounts in the Keystone core system and Acumatica Accounting system
  • Assist in analyzing data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed
  • Ensure timely completion of all Credit Union tax statements
  • Support VP of Accounting with budget planning preparation
  • Provide various reports to Management
  • Assist auditors and examiners in timely completion of annual audits
  • Follow credit union policies for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Security Policies and Confidentiality Policies
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with Accounts Payable as needed
  • Cross‑train as backup to Senior Financial Analyst
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Physical Demands

Perform duties while regularly sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 15 lbs., and using hands. Reach with hands and arms above shoulder height and below the waist. Talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to focus, and ability to use a computer monitor for extended periods.
