A growing, multi‑state construction and development firm is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to join its Phoenix‑based finance team. The role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, and multi‑entity financial management. This position works closely with executive leadership and offers clear growth potential into Controller or Assistant Controller‑level responsibilities.

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities and states.
• Perform construction job cost accounting, ensuring proper cost allocation and project tracking.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job cost reporting.
• Support year‑end audits and tax preparation.
• Help improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to support leadership decision‑making.

• 5+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting and job costing.
• Hands‑on experience with Sage 300 / Timberline.
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities.
• Solid understanding of the full accounting lifecycle.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting proficiency.

Additional construction accounting experience and familiarity with industry‑specific financial software.

• High attention to detail and financial accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving ability.
• Clear communicator who collaborates well across teams.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
