Director of Accounting

Compensation: $130k - $150k + annual bonus

Our client, a growing organization with a large accounting operation, is seeking a VP of Financial Management to lead financial reporting, accounting operations, team development, and process improvement initiatives. This role serves as the organization's senior accounting subject matter expert, partnering closely with executive leadership while overseeing a team responsible for delivering high-quality financial services across a diverse portfolio.

• Lead financial reporting and accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
• Serve as the organization's technical accounting expert, providing guidance on accounting policies, financial reporting, and GAAP application.
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning, departmental initiatives, and organizational objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting leadership and staff, fostering a high-performance and accountability-driven culture.
• Oversee onboarding and integration of new business portfolios, acquisitions, and complex accounting transitions.
• Establish staffing strategies, workload management processes, and performance metrics to optimize team effectiveness.
• Drive process improvement, standardization, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives across the accounting function.
• Review financial reporting deliverables and ensure compliance with internal standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Support external audits and maintain strong internal control environments.
• Partner with operational leaders and external stakeholders to resolve complex financial matters and provide strategic financial guidance.
• Collaborate with technology teams to enhance accounting systems, reporting capabilities, and operational processes.
• Present financial information and accounting-related topics to leadership teams, clients, and other stakeholders as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting leadership experience with demonstrated success leading managers and accounting teams.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, Pivot Tables, Power Query, macros, and financial modeling.
• Experience developing accounting teams and driving performance management initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency projects.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and deadlines.
