Industrial Power Solutions, a Sundt Company, is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support the financial success of our industrial electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for project accounting, accounts receivable, contract administration, and financial reporting while partnering closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Accounting to ensure projects are executed accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment where accuracy, collaboration, and customer service are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project setup, customer setup, billing, and accounts receivable activities.
- Process AIA billings, customer invoices, waivers, collections, and payment tracking.
- Support project accounting activities including cost transfers, contract administration, compliance documentation, and project closeout.
- Coordinate project handoffs, kickoff meetings, and financial job reviews with project teams.
- Maintain project records, monitor financial performance, and assist with reconciliations and reporting.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Accounting to ensure accurate project financial management.
- Minimum 4 years of project accounting or construction accounting experience.
- Experience supporting multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred, or equivalent construction accounting experience.
- Experience with Foundation, Spectrum, Pro Novos, Textura, or similar construction accounting software.
- Experience with AIA billing and construction contract administration.
- Knowledge of construction compliance documentation including certificates of insurance, lien waivers, and licensing requirements.

Physical Requirements- Primarily work in an office environment using computers and standard office equipment.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing data entry and financial analysis.
- Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
- Occasional travel to project sites or meetings may be required.
