Job DescriptionASU Student Business Services seeks a Student Account Representative. This position performs a variety of financial accounting related customer service activities within the Student Business Services department unit in order to provide courteous, prompt, and accurate financial accounting assistance to students regarding their ASU account status. Additional job duties as assigned.
Applicant must be eligible to work in the United States; ASU Student Business Services will not be a sponsor for this position.
Pay Rate: $20.41 per hour
- Extensive customer service in person, via e‑mail, and on the phone for a variety of student account related functions for ASU Student Business Services.
- Research account activity to identify issues and resolve those issues in assigned area or report issues to the appropriate department.
- Process transactions including waivers, charges, and credits to student accounts.
- Prepare reconciliations and departmental reports utilizing a variety of software including People Soft, My ASU, and Microsoft Office.
- Review, processing and resolution of accounts including but not limited to:
Tuition, Billing, and Collection of account related matters - Develop and create correspondence in response to student account inquiries.
- Answer a high volume of phone calls, respond to email inquiries and assist with in‑person customers.
- Update departmental procedures relating to assigned accounting functions.
- Experience working within Financial Accounting
- Experience in working in a high-volume customer service environment.
- Experience in Accounts Receivable environment.
- Experience in reconciling accounts involving debit and credit accounting processing.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience working in Peoplesoft or similar accounting‑based programs.
- Experience in preparing reports.
- Evidence of effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in using attention to detail skills.
ASU Student Business Services provides accounting functions in the areas of:
Student Accounts, Cashiering Services, Collections, Tuition Assessment and Treasury Management.
Graduate Assistant, Intern and part‑time positions are counted as half time for experience equivalency, meaning one year equals six months of experience.
