Job Summary The Staff Accountant performs a range of activities regarding data entry, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, low-volume cash posting, and variance research in the accounting system. This role coordinates actively within the accounting team and with various stakeholders cross-functionally to ensure that accurate and timely data is collected and recorded.

Responsibilities Include Prepare GL journal entries and monthly accruals to assist with the month-end close. Must prioritize workload and work in a deadline-driven environment.

Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.

Perform timely research and resolution of issues, including preparing adjusting entries.

Perform low-volume cash posting.

Streamline processes, create efficiencies, and improve the close process.

Serve as the primary accountant for a related nonprofit entity, owning all accounting activity in Quick Books Online, including full balance sheet reconciliations and submission of financial reports to leadership.

Other duties, as assigned in support of the Finance & Accounting department.

Schedule / Location5 & 2 Schedule | Phoenix, AZThe Successful Candidate Will Have High School diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
2+ years of accounting experience in a large corporate accounting department or 5+ years bookkeeping experience.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.

Curiosity and aptitude for using AI and emerging tools to enhance accounting workflows.

This position is designated Safety Sensitive under the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
