Position Summary

Provides administrative support to the safety department within Southland Industries.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Safety department
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, andpresentations
  • Document management – filing,printingandarchiving
  • Maintain safety related record-keeping to support team and compliance
  • Distribute mail and route necessary documents-route calls andemails to correctparties
  • Arrange andparticipateinsafety related meetings and conferences
  • Perform client service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Maintainssafetysuppliesand tracking for the team(s)
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
Qualifications
  • Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to professionallyassistinternal and external clients.
  • Perform duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.

    MS Office Suite,Word Processing software, Internet software, and Spreadsheet software
  • Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

  • Working knowledge of construction and Safety and OSHA related information, programs, policies and procedures.
