The facilities planner/scheduler job is to assist in planning, scheduling, organizing and directing the work functions and activities of facilities services field personnel. The purpose of the job is to organize and schedule construction, logistics, and operations and maintenance work activities to ensure the most effective use of time, manpower, and materials meeting the facilities maintenance and internal customer requirements.
What You'll Do- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for operations.
- Create & manage purchase orders
- Track inventory and ensure materials are available when needed.
- Assist with organizing and scheduling manpower and materials to ensure effective workflow of facilities services field personnel.
- Provides weekly & monthly reports to foreman & management.
- Daily follow-up with working foreman and supervision to ensure pre-established schedules are maintained or appropriately modified. Daily communication to ensure that all jobs scheduled for the day are performed or will require re-schedule.
- Responsible for scheduling daily work assignments in a manner that optimizes productivity and minimizes downtime.
- Assist with ordering materials for jobs as needed.
- Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.
- Analyzes projected workload, determines suppliers' capability to perform work, interprets essential information, and provides customer with the most timely and cost-effective solution.
- Resolves customer issues and concerns as required.
- Assists in preparing department KPI's, metrics and job costing estimates in support of department and cross department budget goals.
- Must be able to work with other employees as a team but also be able to make independent decisions.
- Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills, be detail oriented, meet expectations of multiple organizations, and possess the ability to understand goal-driven deliverables.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in work assignments.
- Must be able to make value-driven business decisions that support SRP goals.
- Works collaboratively across the organization to achieve company's strategies and goals.
- Strong Computer (MS Office) and Communication Skills (Oral and Written) at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with SAP and Maximo.
- Must have integrity and willingness to take ownership.
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
ExperienceMinimum three years experience of a Journey worker or equivalent experience.
