Position: Materials Field Technician 1

Job Description

You’ll conduct field and lab materials testing, follow safety and compliance requirements, and complete accurate reporting and documentation.

Core Responsibilities

Obtain, maintain, and document all required materials testing and inspection certifications.

Review project plans, specifications, and standards to determine testing and compliance requirements.

Collect and handle construction material samples for field and laboratory testing.

Perform field inspections and testing of concrete, asphalt, masonry, rebar, epoxy, and other construction materials.

Assist with laboratory testing and analysis following established quality, performance, and safety procedures.

Prepare accurate reports, track time and resources, follow safety requirements, and communicate professionally while supporting regional projects.

You’ll thrive here if you have

A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to meet pre‑employment screening requirements.

The ability to read, follow, and apply written procedures with strong attention to detail.

A professional work ethic, clear verbal and written communication skills, and a cooperative, courteous approach to working with others.

The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying conditions.

A strong commitment to continuous learning, including obtaining OSHA 10 and industry certifications (ACI, ATTI, ICC), and flexibility to travel 75% of the time and work nontraditional hours.

A general understanding of construction, basic math and writing skills, and comfort completing accurate detailed field reports.

Strong organizational and communication skills, including timely responses to calls/emails and daily submission of timecards and expenses.

Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and the willingness to pursue industry certifications such as ACI, ATTI, and ICC.

A strong moral fortitude and positive demeanor toward teammates.
