Responsibilities

  • Build, review, or validate virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations.
  • Collaborate with the project team in the development of construction‑site logistics models.
  • Supervise the coordination and management of trade detailing and design deliverables.
  • During the pursuit stage, work with the project team to review and recommend scopes that VDC tools and processes can be incorporated into the project.
  • Collaborate with estimating on model compliance checking and validation.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology on the review of VDC/technology contract language and BIM execution plan.
  • Facilitate the trade partner model coordination process and report to the project management team as required.
  • Aggregate and keep multidiscipline construction models current, ensuring that project modeling standards are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology on the kickoff meeting at project start‑up.
  • Create and coordinate the processing of RFIs with the project team.
  • Promote the use of virtual construction tools and processes to project staff.
  • Share new technologies with project teams and drive adoption of PCL technologies through operational processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or 2‑year certificate in a buildings‑industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), civil, architecture).
  • 2 to 4 years of construction‑related experience, including 1 to 2 years of Virtual Design and Construction‑related experience.
  • Understanding of construction sequences.
  • Awareness of implementing construction technology.
  • Ability to provide project model management; knowledge of the building construction process and the various building components involved at each stage of construction.
  • Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications and translate 2D drawings and specifications into a 3D/4D Building Information Model with direct supervision.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software and the ability to create content in VDC software.
  • Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools.
  • Ability to read the construction model and understand the scope.
  • Ability to create and communicate markups on construction drawings.
  • Ability to start the request for information documentation process.
  • Ability to assist with trade partner deliverables and scope and coordinate multiple trade partner models.
  • Ability to participate in trade coordination meetings and manage and communicate trade partner deliverables and scope.
