Responsibilities- Prepare estimates from quantity take‑off and produce complete computer printouts.
- Identify key project parts that enable competitive estimates.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre‑bid meetings to determine scope and required estimate contents.
- Evaluate areas for potential value‑engineering cost savings.
- Provide leadership to personnel preparing discipline sub‑estimates for assigned bids.
- Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back‑up estimate figures.
- Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical data.
- Prepare detailed listings of material and equipment items and obtain quotes.
- Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors, solicit quotes, and review for completeness and compliance.
- Ensure timely completion of all client‑required documents.
- Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.
- Provide the Chief Estimator with a detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing before issuing the formal bid package.
- After a successful bid, meet with Project Management to explain job scope, potential attention areas, and transition aspects.
- Maintain files of all working documents, backing up estimate figures, and update the Rosendin approved estimating program.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the business unit.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering design drawings.
- Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating.
- Estimate all types of projects and coordinate/supervise group work effort.
- Mentor and assist in the development of Estimators.
- Identify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements.
- Proficient in using a computer, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and estimating software.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
- Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.
- Be self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of estimating or related experience in closing construction estimates.
- Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred.
- Experience with CAD or 3D software preferred.
- A combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Working Conditions- General work environment: sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors.
- Weather: varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level: typically low to medium, can be loud on a job site.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
