The North American Design and Construction team is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to be a key part of the Operations team. This role involves project managing new building planning, design, and construction, including the extension of existing facilities and new sites. The Construction Manager will develop and implement the North American facility network infrastructure, analyze different facility scenarios and build‑out designs, and support standardization of technical and facility‑related processes and systems.
Responsibilities- Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for the North American facility network infrastructure and other new or expansion projects.
- Provide project support on new fulfillment network buildings and capacity requirements within existing North American Fulfillment Centers, Delivery Stations, or Sort Centers.
- Lead construction scope review and development with internal operational customers, facilitating engineering and design efforts on new and remodel projects.
- Oversee and facilitate execution of expansion, tenant improvement (TI), and engineering deployment for new facilities within the fulfillment network.
- Provide technical direction in accordance with North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) design parameters.
- Negotiate contract terms with general contractors and trade contractors, ensuring agreements are fit for purpose, cost‑effective, and include appropriate Service Level Agreements.
- Manage overall site coordination, planning, and execution of subcontractors.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding engineering buildouts, IT readiness, and turnover to operational groups.
- Partner with teams overseeing transition of base building management and turnover documentation.
- Coach and guide all project teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Ensure contracted resources deliver work that meets duration and quality targets, addressing under‑performance issues.
- Audit contractors to confirm that labor skills are appropriate and fit for the work.
- Inform contractors of projected changes in resource or work demand.
- Utilize information systems for effective scheduling and recording of contract work.
- Support contractors to achieve higher performance levels.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously across various locations.
- Review designs for conformance to current building specifications.
- Track, forecast, and manage budgets for assigned expansion, remodel, and new build projects.
- Review and analyze all proposed cost and time change requests from external and internal teams.
- Lead negotiations with appropriate authority‑having‑jurisdiction (AHJ) entities as required.
- Maintain positive, transparent cross‑team communication for all aspects of project delivery.
- Travel up to 60% regionally, with potential to travel throughout North America.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of construction or project management experience.
- 5+ years of project management discipline experience, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical‑path management.
- 4+ years of multi‑million dollar contract negotiation experience.
- Master’s degree in the same fields.
- Experience communicating with customers, technical, regulatory, business teams, and management to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designs.
- Experience in construction or project management.
- Experience in facilities management.
- 5+ years of design, construction, or program management in mission‑critical facilities.

Salary range varies by location: e.g., USA, AZ, Tempe – $77,400–$135,400 USD annually; USA, TX, Austin – $77,400–$135,400 USD annually.
