As a high-growth firm, Wilson Engineers offers the opportunity to work on impactful and technically challenging projects alongside a talented and passionate team. We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Inspector to join our Tempe, Arizona office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Proactive and self-motivated individual, able to meet challenging time constraints and work independently and as part of a team
- Review project plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project
- Provide onsite construction inspection for projects located throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area
- Coordinate in the field with the project Owners, Contractors and 3rd-party material testing agencies
- Communicate effectively with Structural Engineering staff who supervise work in progress
- Prepare Daily reports to document construction progress, changes and as-built conditions
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working in the Construction Industry as a Structural Inspector, Field Engineer, or similar
- Knowledge of construction means & methods and quality control measures, along with knowledge and experience in water/wastewater construction is a plus
- Experience with construction Submittals, Shop Drawings, and RFI coordination
- Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software capabilities
- Minimum one ICC Certification (Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel and Bolting, and Structural Welding) and willingness to obtain others within one year
- OSHA 30-hour training
- Requires a valid Arizona driver’s license and good driving record
- Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar is a plus, but not required
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (or ability to obtain within one year), with demonstrated experience inspecting structural steel fabrication, and welding procedures is a plus.
