Job Description:
To provide instructional and behavioral support to students with extreme behavioral and emotional disabilities and all other special education teacher responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:Educating students directly through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments.
Job Qualifications:The appropriate certified candidate must possess Arizona Special Education certification, Cross Categorical or ED teaching certificate. SEI endorsement preferred.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
Employment Information:2026-27 school year; 194 work days (216 day teacher calendar).
Start Date:July 8, 2026 (New Teachers).
Salary:Certified.
Future Requirement for K-5:Literacy Endorsement (unless you hold a Reading K-8, Reading K-12, or Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement).
Timeline:- Teachers who were certified on or before 8/1/2025 have until 8/1/2028 to obtain the literacy endorsement.
- Teachers who certify after 8/1/2025 will have 3 years from certificate issuance to obtain the literacy endorsement.
- Teachers who graduate from AZ colleges in 2025 should have completed the coursework and should have the certificate on their licenses.
