Title: Noon Aide

Job Description: Provide safety and assistance to children in lunchrooms and school grounds.

Qualifications:

• Education equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience working with and/or supervising children
• State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
• No previous experience required

Essential Functions (Illustrative only):

• Ensuring safety of students in lunchrooms and school grounds
• Counsel and/or intervene with students to ensure acceptable behavior
• Report observations and/or incidents relating to students to appropriate school personnel
• Respond to emergency situations to address safety concerns
• Escort students to and from classrooms
• Assist students in lunchroom and/or school grounds
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (clean up spills, floor, etc.)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:

• Knowledge of District policies and regulations
• Skill in interacting with students, staff and parents
• Ability to use equipment such as walkie talkie, brooms, mops or related items
• Ability to enforce school and/or District rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with students, parents and staff

Working Conditions: Potential physical harm;
Exposure to outdoor elements

Physical Effort: Occasional lifting, carrying, pulling, or running;
Push/pull, lift/carry up to 10 lbs;
May be required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and/or crawl;
Position requires continuous standing and/or walking
