The role focuses on supporting high school students within the CTE Medical Program, fostering a safe learning environment, and guiding academic and behavioral growth.

CompensationStarting Salary: $32,000 – $46,000 per year based on experience and proposition plan payout eligibility.
Responsibilities- Overall management and success of high school students within the CTE Medical Program.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient lab environment that supports student learning and technology use.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where students feel safe, respected, and motivated.
- Instruct and independently monitor students in their use of academic platforms and medical tools to ensure accurate completion of assignments.
- Diagnose, prescribe, treat, and evaluate student behavior and academic engagement on an individualized basis to promote continuous improvement.
- Encourage and track student progress within established timelines, offering guidance and positive reinforcement.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of student progress, including credit recovery, attendance, and Individual Student Plan (ISP) metrics.
- Update required documentation in compliance with Ombudsman protocols, local district policies, and education regulations.
- Prepare detailed, timely reports on student academic achievement, lab participation, and daily activities for school records or stakeholder review.
- Manage student behavior in alignment with Ombudsman’s behavioral philosophy, setting clear expectations and applying consistent disciplinary measures.
- Assign academic courses within online learning platforms based on individual student needs, credit requirements, and graduation goals.
- Support and advise students with academic challenges, offering individualized assistance and resources.
- Participate actively in center‑wide meetings, conferences, and collaborative planning sessions.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, supervisors, and colleagues regarding performance, behavior, and support strategies.
- Participate in assurance and accreditation efforts to meet or exceed performance benchmarks and quality standards.
- Engage in required professional development activities at the school and district level.
- Respond thoughtfully and professionally to feedback as part of personal and team growth.
- Collaborate with staff to foster a cohesive, student‑centered learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support academic, behavioral, and operational success.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with passage of a basic skills test.
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field of study preferred.
- Hold or be able to obtain a valid AZ state fingerprint card.
- Graduate of an Ombudsman Educational Services program highly preferred.
- Prior experience within a national health career association (NHA) or other CTE medical program.
- Prior experience working with at‑risk youth, preferably in an alternative, special education, or behavioral health setting.
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in alternative educational services for students with diverse needs.
- Proficiency in motivating students and conducting critical conversations to move them toward realistic goals.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from staff, students, parents, and the public.
- Strong motivational skills and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and initiatives.
- Highly skilled in mentoring, coaching, administrative support, and/or technical support functions.
- Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum development, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making ability.
- Well‑versed in relevant technology, including computers, Microsoft Office Suite, instructional programs, database entry, and basic office equipment.
- Ability to obtain required licenses and certifications (e.g., Crisis Prevention Instrument).
