Position: Languages (Spanish) (Faculty Chair 40)

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Spanish or a master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish.
  • High-level collaborative and interdisciplinary experience managing multiple tasks or projects.
  • Experience with online, hybrid, or classroom instruction, curriculum development and assessment.
  • Demonstrated participation in assessment/accreditation activities and data‑driven program review.
  • Experience recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating faculty.
  • Background in resolving student or faculty concerns, and working with diverse student populations.
  • Experience leading committees or collaborations with community and industry partners.
  • Participation in shared‑governance activities at a higher education institution.
  • Experience presenting at conferences or workshops.
  • One year of full‑time MCCCD experience within the past two years.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for adjunct faculty, including hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluation.
  • Teach and engage in curriculum development, assessment, and student support.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, administration, and community partners on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Coordinate development and oversee discipline‑related partnerships and programs.
Job Summary

Residential Faculty at Rio Salado College serve as Faculty Chair, overseeing the Languages Department. The position supports a collaborative cohort that manages programs, projects, and services while supervising adjunct faculty and participating in the Faculty Senate and multiple committees. The role reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Salary and Schedule
  • Salary range: $51,774 - $99,672 annually, DOE.
  • Grade: 001.
  • Work schedule:

    Monday‑Friday, 30 hours per week.
  • Work calendar: 9 months.
  • Regular appointment (full‑time).
