Special Education Teacher

Pay Range: $40 - $50 per hour (depending on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in San Tan Valley, Arizona. As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs while working collaboratively with educators, therapists, administrators, and families to create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address each student's unique academic, behavioral, and functional needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with a variety of disabilities in accordance with their IEP goals.
  • Monitor student progress, collect and analyze data, and modify instructional strategies to maximize student success.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and support staff to develop effective instructional strategies and inclusive learning environments.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, IEP updates, and classroom performance.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based collaborative planning sessions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student performance, attendance, progress reports, and special education compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Arizona Department of Education regulations, and district policies.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student independence, confidence, and academic growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain Arizona certification.
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in K-12 school settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
  • Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential.
