Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
• Experience working with school‑aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
• Knowledge of assistive listening devices and educational technology for hearing impairments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school teams
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and deliver effective accommodations
• Assess student needs and progress, maintaining clear, consistent documentation
• Engage with families to ensure alignment of goals and strategies between home and school
• Serve as a valuable resource on deafness and hearing impairments to school staff and the wider school community
