Job Description
Make an impact in education by supporting students with visual impairments as a full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired on a travel contract basis near Chandler, AZ. DesiredQualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), or eligibility to obtain
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments in educational settings
- Strong skills in braille, orientation and mobility, assistive technology, and curriculum adaptation
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with IEP goals
- Assess and document student needs, progress, and accommodations
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt materials and strategies
- Support students with orientation, mobility, daily living skills, and assistive technology
- Engage with families and other professionals to facilitate student success and independence
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
- Meaningful work supporting and empowering students
- Professional development and networking within schools
