Where You Will Work
This role is based in Arizona, supporting underground operations and long-term project planning across the region. Work is conducted in a hybrid model with both in-office and on-site collaboration depending on business needs. Arizona is one of the world’s most important copper mining regions, offering excellent access to outdoor recreation, culture, and lifestyle balance.
Description
- Lead and manage underground mine projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets
- Conduct and contribute to technical and economic feasibility studies for new and existing operations
- Participate in and lead mine safety audits, ensuring compliance with internal and external safety standards
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on mine planning, design, and operational improvements
- Collaborate with geology, metallurgy, environmental, and finance teams to support project development
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge transfer across the engineering team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Geological Engineering and 5+ years of related experience, OR Master’s degree and 3+ years of related experience
- Recent hands-on experience in at least two of the following: mine planning, project management, feasibility analysis, geomechanical control, or engineering supervision
- Strong knowledge of mine engineering principles and project management methods
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and deliver results
- Skilled in conducting feasibility studies and technical evaluations
- Strong understanding of mine safety standards and audit processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in mine planning and engineering software
Conditions
- Primarily office-based with periodic site visits, which may include exposure to dust, temperature extremes, and industrial environments
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
- Personal protective equipment required during site visits
- Base salary range: $101,000–$141,000 (excluding bonus, benefits, and retirement contributions)
