TSMC Arizona is looking for a Hookup Senior Safety Engineer to join our F21 FAB project located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. As a Hookup Senior Safety Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability, enthusiasm, and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values – Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.
As a Senior Safety Engineer, you will oversee and manage safety programs focused on risk reduction and compliance, specifically within clean room environments. You will actively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote safety culture and develop innovative solutions for risk management while maintaining industry standards.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and best practices in compliance with semiconductor manufacturing safety requirements.
- Conduct safety incidents investigations and drive corrective actions and prevention action plan to mitigate future risks.
- Conduct in-depth risk assessments, JSAs and method statements to ensure safety considerations are incorporated into equipment layouts and workflows.
- Accountable for establishing, monitoring, and continuously improving contractor and subcontractor adherence to all safety regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and operations teams to integrate safety measures into design, workflow, and installation process.
- Advocate for proactive risk management and continuous safety improvement.
- Monitor workplace conditions, perform regular site inspections and audits to identify and address unsafe conditions and practices to enhance safety performance.
- Track and report safety metrics, KPIs, and performance to project stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement by implementing lessons learned and best practices.
- Deliver employee training sessions on advanced safety practices and regulations.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field. - Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or semiconductor safety management, risk management - Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to assess and mitigate risks.
- Expertise in hazard analysis, risk assessment methodologies, accident investigation, and safety management systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team of engineers and operations teams.
- Attention to detail and proactive approach to workplace safety improvements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to influence contractors.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial hygiene principles.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and HAZMAT response protocols.
- Be willing to support international projects, which may include traveling overseas for extended periods (period depend on business need) to assist team efforts
- Education:
- Valid OSHA #510 (for construction-related activities) or #511 (for operational activities)
- Preferred OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technologist).
- Preferred CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technologist).
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- LOTO
- Capable of lifting materials, working on ladders/lifts, and standing for long periods of time
- May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
- Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and to adjust heavy objects.
- The position will come in contact with sharp, hot, and cold equipment, and parts.
- Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator.
- Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment.
