Structural Engineering Professional (39131)

As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team responsible for performing a significant portion of structural analysis and design. You will collaborate closely with Structural Leads, Engineers, Designers, and other disciplines to develop design concepts, complete analysis, and ensure structural requirements are accurately documented in design drawings and models.

It is expected that you have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering, a breadth of knowledge across multiple subject areas, and experience with U.S. building codes—including seismic provisions. You should understand how structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines and stay informed about industry trends and challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Exercise sound engineering judgment and problem‑solving skills, seeking guidance as needed.
  • Possess knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic), including application of required building‑code provisions.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and quality control, checking your own work and seeking peer review when necessary.
  • Perform calculation checking of other engineers' work.
  • Manage workload, meet commitments, and take full ownership of assigned work.
  • Own your portion of the structural scope, reliably working to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Take initiative to determine what is needed to meet project and client needs when conditions are ill‑defined.
  • Define your own scope and forecast effort required.
  • Identify scope changes and promptly notify your Structural Lead.
  • Develop leadership skills and provide technical guidance, coaching, or mentorship to designers and less‑experienced engineers.
  • Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline, embracing emerging technologies.
Working Conditions and Requirements
  • Your home location must be in the USA Southwest Region (AZ, CA, CO, HI, NM, NV, UT).
  • Employee must provide internet service as required to effectively meet project performance requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE/PEng).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Experience with U.S. building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
  • Experience with structural engineering analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or a MS degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in semiconductor industrial or general industrial facilities.
  • Experience leading small teams.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
