Whatyou'll do
This role works across sites and segments to assure compliance and lead improvements to our Quality Management System. Gain and apply a unique view of Viasat’s processes working cross functionally. Conduct internal production/process and manufacturing quality audits and risk assessments. Prepare audit plans and understand the specific issues to be evaluated. Execute internal audits within established manufacturing and production controls to ensure compliance with in-house and external specifications and standards (e.g., AS9100, GMP, ISO, Six Sigma).
Develop formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies, if applicable, and make recommendations as appropriate. May facilitate the work of external auditors during on‑site visits. Identify gaps and provide expertise in business requirements for management system and scale new and current systems, processes, and procedures in a cost‑effective manner. Lead cross‑functional linked teams to address business or process, or systemic issues.

As a Quality Management Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for tactical, strategic, and day‑to‑day quality management system needs including systemic improvements across sites.
- Provide mentorship to business and functional process owners on the Quality Management System.
- Be accountable for the planning and execution of quality management system processes.
- Audit planning, set up, and execution of internal and external AS9100 audits.
- Team with site and corporate stakeholders to drive process improvement activities.
- Manage ISO
9001/AS9100 adherence audits, review findings, review Viasat procedures, and communicate status reports to upper management. - Respond to Customer Survey requests.
- 8+ years experience in quality, operations, and/or engineering in a development and manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of auditing experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent knowledge of AS9100, AS9102B, 9001 QMS or maintenance.
- Ability to read procedures and process guidelines, record and interpret data.
- PLM tool knowledge, such as Agile, as well as ERP systems, such as Oracle.
- Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), 8D, 5 Why, etc., and other failure analysis quality tools.
- Ambition to learn and achieve personal advancement.
- Display autonomy, with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency, with the ability to comprehend sophisticated technical topics and niche information.
- Ability to communicate and influence different stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Up to 20% travel (domestic and international).
- Located within a 50‑mile radius of Duluth, GA.
- US Citizenship required.
- Hands‑on manufacturing background in electro‑mechanical assemblies.
- Lead AS9001D auditor trained.
