Job Description

Atlas is seeking a Project Geologist to join our Environmental Investigation & Remediation team in Tempe, Arizona
. In this hands‑on, field‑focused role you will support meaningful environmental projects across Arizona, assessing, investigating, and remediating sites to protect communities and the environment. The position offers opportunities to grow technically while working alongside experienced professionals who value safety, teamwork, and quality.

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental site investigations, including soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling
  • Oversee drilling activities, log soil samples, and support monitoring well installation
  • Collect, document, and manage accurate field data, notes, photographs, and chain‑of‑custody records
  • Support environmental remediation, Brownfields, and due diligence projects across Arizona
  • Prepare and contribute to technical reports, work plans, and project documentation
  • Travel to local and regional project sites and work safely outdoors in varying conditions
You’ll thrive here if you have
  • A bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of environmental consulting or related field experience
  • A strong safety mindset and commitment to following health and safety procedures
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet project deadlines
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Arizona
  • Preferred candidate will be 40‑hour HAZWOPER trained.
  • Willingness to learn United States Environmental Protection Agency and State of Arizona environmental regulations and standard field procedures and methodologies related to site investigation, remediation, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental compliance projects.
