Our client is a market leader and No. 1 or No. 2 in its target markets, with an exciting strategy and roadmap. A key growth-engine is the eFuse/eRelay product line, which was first invented there. Other products in the Division include ESD/surge protection, RF, standard and high performance transistors, and many other technologies. The business unit is poised for rapid growth and targeting $1B in revenue in the upcoming years.
The Power Systems Engineer will drive system understanding and product definition for key components of industrial, commercial and residential systems.
Performance Objectives: define, develop and rapidly release-to-market industry-leading mixed-signal power-management and high-power products
- Become the primary technical interface to customers in multiple segments related to power-management and high-power products that include packaged parts and power modules
- Devise solutions to the pain points and protect IP through filings, as appropriate
- Drive Company’s objectives in new markets and new technologies through standards bodies such as UL
- Take ownership of system definition and, as needed, individual chip definition
- Drive towards design wins; support marketing strategy and revenue generation
- Represent Company and PSD in trade shows and related forums
- BSEE/BE/BTech” or“MSEE/ME/MTechwith 5-10 years of work experience
- Experience working with HV AC+DC circuits
- Preferred: hands on experience in traditional circuit breakers and designing Motor Control Center (MCC)/ Power Control Center (PCC)
- Preferred:
Systems and applications expert with experience of designing Converter+ Inverter + Brake / PFC - Experience mentoring lab-oriented engineers in designing PCBs performing HV testing
- A good understanding of IEC, UL and ISO standards associated with HV circuits and circuit breakers
- Preferred: the ability to interpret safety requirements per IEC
61508, IEC
62368, IEC 60730-2-2, UL2111, UL507, UL1004
-1, 3, 7 etc. - Preferred: experience with participation in standards bodies
- Knowledge of industrial protocols such as RS-485, Ethernet, Modbus, WiFi and Zigbee
- Knowledge of power semiconductor technologies such as silicon, SiC and GaN discrete devices
- Experience/knowledge of FMEA, FMEDA and DFA for industrial safety requirements
- Must have good communication skills and work ethic
- A track record of leadership skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Management experience is a plus
- Travel up to 30%
