Where You Will WorkBagdad, Arizona – a small town offering subsidized housing, a family‑friendly atmosphere, and amenities including an aquatic center, golf course and fitness center. Located 100 miles northwest of Phoenix, Bagdad hosts the world’s first commercial‑scale concentrate leach processing facility and one of the longest continuously operating solvent extraction/electrowinning plants. This position may be eligible for Freeport‑Mc Mo Ran immigration work visa sponsorship.
What You Will Do- Provide technical advice and guidance for all phases of Electrical Engineering projects.
- Develop Electrical Engineering projects utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, cost controls, quality controls and protection of the environment.
- Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
- Manage maintenance and projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning, construction, expansion or modifications.
- Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.
- Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.
- Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests.
- May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- May represent the site on company‑sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline and five (5) years of related experience in Engineering or a related field, OR
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge and experience in electronics, PLCs, radio communications and control systems.
- Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of Electrical Engineering with an understanding of Mechanical and Process Engineering techniques.
- Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Skill in managing large/complex Engineering projects.
- Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Advanced degree or professional engineering (PE) certification.
- Strong knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
- Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
- Experience in cost estimating for electrical projects.
- Experience with project financials, including S‑curves and AFEs.
- Skills in developing, reviewing, and analyzing P&IDs and electrical drawings.
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000-$145,000
. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
