Smyth Industries Electrical Division is currently searching for an individual with Water Infrastructure Industry experience as an Electrical Control Panel Builder to help enhance our current team. We provide full-service electrical, civil, manufacturing, engineering and general contracting services for the water and reclamation industry.
The ideal candidate will foster teamwork and create a positive work environment in a fast-paced industry, while helping our Arizona clients engineer, rehabilitate, manufacture and construct water distribution and treatment infrastructure.

In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in the water and reclamation industry by:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Experience in building control cabinets.
- With a high level of attention to detail complete layout/building of high/low voltage and control components and circuitry.
- Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures.
- Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards.
- Point to point wiring of relays, controls, interfaces, and instrumentation.
- Install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or other power tool-type equipment.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, builders, installers, client representatives, engineers, and project managers.
- Calculate electrical loads, specifications, requirements.
- Coordinate purchasing of electrical parts.
- Create bill of materials for control cabinets.
- Complete project builds/implementation of control cabinets and equipment.
- Testing of control cabinets and associated equipment.
- Customer support of existing equipment, troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
- Perform field installation of control cabinets including terminating field wiring when needed.
- Coordinate and collaborate with client’s representative to provide field commissioning of panels.
- 1 year of experience building electrical control panels/electrical experience.
- Read and interpret electrical schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
- Skilled in the use of measuring, diagnostic, and hand tools.
- Knowledgeable in NEC (National Electrical Code) UL Listings
- Proficient in applying UL 508 standards.
- Proficient in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
