Your Next OpportunityThe Electrical VDC Manager is responsible for managing and producing building electrical BIM models, field/shop drawings, BIM content for building electrical systems, and the BIM coordination process.
What You’ll Do- Oversee the virtual construction and design documentation process.
- Manage a team of modelers and coordinators by coaching, mentoring, and supervising.
- Ensure compliance with the Corporate BIM Program and Processes.
- Coordinate with professional staff on model review and comments.
- Develop electrical building models from sketches, 2‑D drawings, and verbal instructions using Revit MEP/AutoCAD MEP tools.
- Resolve conflicts with other disciplines and trades using Navis Works while refining primary electrical design.
- Produce drawings and models that meet instructions, guidelines, and CAD/BIM standards.
- Modify incoming CAD/BIM files for use in the design/detailing process (clean‑up, audit, reference, troubleshoot).
- Prepare 3‑D electrical system layouts for underground and above‑ceiling coordination.
- Prepare a 3‑D seismic support model for all electrical systems.
- Produce MEP coordination drawings and electrical shop drawings by extracting data from the 3‑D electrical model.
- Attend and actively participate in coordination meetings with other MEP trades.
- Utilize CAD scheduling and takeoffs for pre‑fabrication.
- Use the Revit family editor/AutoCAD Content Manager to build BIM content for electrical components as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with an architecture/engineering consulting firm or contractor.
- Mechanical PE preferred.
- Combination of education, training, and experience acceptable.
- Complete understanding of the electrical construction business.
- Proficiency in Revit Architecture/MEP 2010 and later, and AutoCAD 2‑D/3‑D.
- Ability to meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
Oracle preferred. - Skill to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
- Effective interpersonal interaction.
- 100 % within the valley.
- General work environment: sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions.
- Noise level typically low to medium, may be louder on job sites.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Full compliance with ADA and applicable state law, offering reasonable accommodations.
