Join a collaborative, innovation-driven leader in the regulated manufacturing industry as a Packaging Engineer supporting the development and validation of packaging solutions that ensure products are transported safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. In this hands‑on contract role, you'll partner with cross‑functional teams to drive packaging design, verification and validation activities, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to impactful projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and design packaging equipment and materials for safe, convenient, and attractive transport of goods under a variety of conditions.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine the required type of packaging materials and to maximize convenience, utility, and function based on the product's physical characteristics, safety, and special‑handling requirements.
- Evaluate packaging and transporting methods and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Evaluate and recommend efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, and utilization of sealing and fastening devices.
- Ensure compliance with regulated industry packaging design standards.
- Perform design verification and validation processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis on packaging test failures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on supplier management and project leadership initiatives.
- Regulated industry packaging design experience.
- Experience with design verification and validation.
- Experience with packaging test failure root cause analysis (RCA).
- Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering or a related field and 2+ years of packaging industry experience OR Associate’s Degree in packaging or related field and 4+ years of packaging industry experience.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and methods.
- Project leadership skills (preferred).Experience with supplier management (preferred).
- Equipment qualification experience (preferred).
