Senior Technical Validator – Honeywell International Inc. (Honeywell Aerospace)
You will support technical validation activities for engines, power systems and mechanical controls systems for Aero and UAM aircraft. Your responsibilities will include reviewing drawings for manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to industry and internal standards; verifying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to ensure proper fit at next‑level assembly; reviewing 3D model integrity to ensure accurate translation to CAD and CAM tools.
You will act as a technical lead for less experienced engineers supporting you, and you will also lead continuous improvement efforts including knowledge capture, design standards, tools and process improvements. You will report directly to engineering leadership and work out of Tempe, AZ, Torrance, CA or South Bend, IN.
- Support technical validation activities for engines, power systems and mechanical controls systems for Aero and UAM aircraft.
- Review drawings for manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to industry and internal standards.
- Verify geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to ensure proper fit at next‑level assembly.
- Review 3D model integrity to ensure accurate translation to CAD and CAM tools.
- Act as a technical lead for less experienced engineers supporting you.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts including knowledge capture, design standards, tools and process improvements.
- Report directly to engineering leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated experience in product development.
- Demonstrated experience of industry standards.
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Significant experience in drawing detailing and drawing changes for new and legacy programs.
- Expert in GD&T and ASME Y14 Series.
- Significant experience with Honeywell Aerospace mechanical drawing requirements and industry drawing standards.
- Familiarity with tolerance stack‑up analysis (axial and radial).
- Proficiency in CAD tools, NX preferred.
- Experience with PLM tools, Teamcenter preferred.
- Knowledge of unique manufacturing and design requirements for aerospace applications.
- Capability to work with self‑direction, take initiative, exercise sound judgment, discretion, and capable of complex decision making in a dynamic work environment.
- Proven ability to present and effectively communicate technical details to varying audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to modify work schedule to satisfy challenging customer demands and compressed project schedules.
- Proven ability mentoring others.
- Experience working with global teams across time zones.
Annual base salary range: $117,000 – $146,000.
