Duration: 2+ Months contract

100% Onsite, in the lab

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required;
    Associates of Science degree in science, math or engineering preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years prior experience as a technician in a lab setting (Medical preferred).
  • Understanding of good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Experience in R&D or related process development; medical device or other regulated environment highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a development testing lab with knowledge of good documentation practices.
  • Ability to assist in executing testing protocols.
  • Ability to enter data in Microsoft Project and / or Minitab for data analysis.
  • General technical awareness and ability to read and understand drawings.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Assist R&D engineer in medical device process testing and development, performing tests, collecting and analyzing data, developing, optimizing, and validating processes for building a medical device and building units for engineering.
  • Product Builds:
    Assist, coordinate, track and build product parts or prototypes for engineering evaluation, validation, pre‑clinical and clinical studies, marketing and commercial sales. Set up and operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Process Development:
    Assist in new process development for new or existing medical devices and processes, supporting tooling and equipment development.
  • Assist in conceptual input to the design of fixtures, tooling and equipment, and recommend, specify and procure capital equipment.
  • Documentation:
    Assist, prepare, develop, and implement documentation including work instructions, standard operating procedures, technical reports, change requests and formal test protocols and reports that comply with GMP and quality requirements.
  • Test Method Development:
    Review test methods during development and assist with test method validations.
  • Testing:
    Perform tests by following instructions, collect data, record results, analyze and present data in a reportable format. Assist in the execution of test protocols and procedures. Set up test equipment per protocols.
  • Training:
    Provide process/test method training to manufacturing and QA personnel.
  • Equipment:
    Perform and document equipment preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems per schedule. Ensure equipment is operating properly. Obtain quotes for testing and calibration.
  • Materials/Inventory:
    Generate purchase orders, coordinate orders and deliveries with vendors, perform R&D stock checks, ship materials, receive materials, prepare commercial invoices, and liaise with internal customs specialists. Mentor and coach peer technicians on R&D tasks and responsibilities.
