We’re seeking a Federal Environmental Compliance Project Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing environmental compliance programs at federal client sites. This role is to lead the team of consultants and contractors that ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations while overseeing projects that mitigate environmental risk and support site operations.
The position requires strong technical knowledge of regulations, project management expertise, and the ability to collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Based out of our Holladay, UT office, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with local and global experts to ensure Jacobs provides best practice solutions to our clients. You’ll prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentation to clients’ technical and senior leadership in accordance with Jacobs’ quality process. You ll apply your technical experience to develop delivery strategies and develop client relationships while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team.
And, you ll master and promote Jacobs’ solutions and technologies to internal and external stakeholders.
This position will require travel to local client sites and may require some travel to client or team workshops, presentations, or to conduct site visits. The role will be predominantly office based, but periodic field assignments may be required.

Responsibilities- Lead and manage environmental compliance programs at federal client sites
- Lead a team of consultants and contractors to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Oversee projects that mitigate environmental risk and support site operations
- Prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentations to clients’ technical and senior leadership
- Develop delivery strategies and client relationships while championing safety, quality, and team well-being
- Promote Jacobs’ solutions and technologies to internal and external stakeholders
- Travel to local client sites and, as needed, to workshops, presentations, or site visits
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or other closely related technical degree
- 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance and project management
- Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations (NEPA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA) and regulatory processes
- Proven experience managing projects at federal or highly regulated sites, including project statusing of budgets and schedule
- Experience in developing, reviewing, and implementing work plans and quality assurance project plans
- Experience with project and account management tools and applications, such as cost pricing, project statusing and tracking, and customer account relationship tools
- Proven experience developing winning proposals and successfully managing projects with respect to clients, contracts, stakeholders, scope, schedule, budget, diverse teams, quality, risk, change, and profit
- Demonstrated business development and client service skills, including ability to identify sales opportunities, lead or participate in sales efforts, close deals, manage scope changes and write proposals
- Demonstrated ability to work with regulatory agencies and manage compliance obligations
- Experience leading environmental audits, inspections, and corrective actions
