Position: STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST / STAFF ENGINEER

STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST / STAFF ENGINEER

Broadbent & Associates, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona is looking to hire an organized full‑time Staff Environmental Scientist / Staff Engineer to work on a wide variety of environmental projects. Day in the Life: Under the supervision of the Phoenix Office Manager, the Staff Scientist/Engineer will support environmental projects including water & wastewater monitoring, emergency response, Phase 1 environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater characterization, air sampling, remediation system operation, lithologic logging, well construction monitoring, and biological surveys. Responsibilities include field work, data collection, health and safety compliance, administrative reporting, and ensuring on‑time, on‑budget project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • Zero to two years of environmental‑related work experience
  • Ability to work outdoors, traverse moderate terrain and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Technical writing competency
  • Strong technical and computer skills
  • Self‑starter, quick learner and effective communication skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • GIS experience a plus

Work Schedule: Full‑time Monday to Friday with travel (2‑5 days away for key projects) and occasional weekend work; extended deployments for emergency response are possible on a voluntary basis.
