Overview
JLL is seeking a Critical Environment Chief Engineer to lead technical strategy for mission‑critical facilities. The role delivers advanced engineering leadership, ensures maximum uptime of critical infrastructure, and drives innovation across systems such as UPS, generators, switch gear, precision cooling, and power distribution.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive technical strategies for critical infrastructure systems.
- Serve as primary technical authority for all engineering decisions and establish standards.
- Oversee all critical infrastructure systems including UPS, generators, switch gear, precision cooling, and power distribution, lead complex troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to regional engineering managers and lead engineers; develop advanced training programs.
- Act as senior technical advisor to clients and C‑level executives, manage relationships with OEMs, and coordinate technical aspects of vendor contracts and service agreements.
- Lead strategic capital planning for major critical system investments, oversee large‑scale infrastructure projects, and develop technical specifications for procurements.
- Ensure all critical systems exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements, lead technical compliance audits, and implement safety protocols.
- Research and evaluate cutting‑edge critical facilities technologies to drive digital transformation and sustainability.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in critical facilities/data‑center engineering, with 5+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Expert‑level knowledge of UPS, generators, switch gear, cooling, and power distribution.
- Proven track record leading large‑scale technical teams and infrastructure projects.
- Advanced expertise in building automation, DCIM platforms, and critical system monitoring.
- Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning and budget management.
- Ability to travel up to 30% for technical oversight, vendor meetings, and industry events.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, MBA, or related advanced degree.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Advanced critical facilities certifications (e.g., DCCA, CEM).
- Experience with major OEMs and cutting‑edge technologies.
- Track record of successful technology innovation and implementation.
- Industry recognition through publications, presentations, or leadership roles.
