Telecommunications BIM Designer

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Telecommunications BIM Designer for a contract position with a Global Engineering Firm located in Tempe, AZ. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.

This role is focused on the design documentation and management of Revit BIM models for telecommunications projects. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD to create fully coordinated 3D models and 2D construction drawings. This position involves turning design intent into constructable deliverables and ensuring consistency with client standards.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in design documentation, responsible for setup and management of Revit BIM models
• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines
• Create 2D construction drawings using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
• Work in coordination with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers
• Turn the design intent of senior team members into constructable, clash-free 3D models

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• At least 3 years of Revit BIM design experience
• Familiarity with Navis Works
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry
• A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
• A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
• Experience following client design and modeling standards
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts
• Willingness to learn new things

Desired skills:

• At least 4 years of Revit MEP design experience
• Knowledge and design experience of semiconductor and/or advance facility environments
• Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems
• Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarm, access control, closed-circuit television (CCTV)
• Knowledge of control systems and network components and topology

Pay range: up to $41 per hour
