Mine Development Planner

Seeking a Mine Development Planner to support the early-stage development of a large-scale open-pit mining project.

This role is critical in bridging long-term mine planning with on-the-ground execution, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-sequenced development of new mining infrastructure.

• Lead planning and sequencing for early mine development (0–2 year horizon aligned to Life of Mine plans)
• Oversee site preparation including haul roads, drainage systems, waste rock dumps, and topsoil management
• Design and support safe pit development, including geotechnical and water management considerations
• Coordinate and manage earthworks contractors during initial mine construction phases
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and safety standards (MSHA/OSHA)
• Act as the key link between planning teams and field operations to resolve real-time site challenges

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
• 5–8+ years of experience in large-scale open-pit mining operations
• Strong proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik or Hexagon) and Civil 3D
• Solid understanding of mining regulations, permitting, and safety compliance (MSHA/OSHA)
• Prior greenfield or early mine development experience highly desirable
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt plans to field conditions
