Join Our Team as an Event Manager!Friendship Village Tempe is seeking an experienced and strategic Event Manager to lead and orchestrate our independent living events operation. This role owns the systems, communication, and team coordination behind a very high volume of events in a large, active senior living community focusing on the independent living campus.
Communication and organization experience with 12+ event spaces (small or large) with an average of 100 events a week (small or large) is vital to this role. Management of direct employees is required.
The Event Manager designs and manages the process, leads teams who execute the work, and ensures events move from idea to execution smoothly, consistently, and professionally.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm, including flexibility based on large events including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Starting Salary: $76,229-$83,851.90 DOE
- Serve as the single point of coordination for event communication across the independent living catering and activities departments
- Translate event visions from a variety of customers (directors, residents, etc) into clear, executable plans for multiple teams who will be executing the event orders
- Ensure events are properly scoped, scheduled, and ordered before execution begins
- Ensure ability for internal FVT department leaders to act as customers for their events
- Maintain clarity, consistency, and accountability across a high-volume events environment
- Continuously improve workflows to support growth, complexity, and quality expectations
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading event operations within a large organization such as a campus, hotel, club, convention center, or comparable complex environment with at least 12 event spaces and at least 100 events a week.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing employees responsible for event execution and logistics
- Ability to design and maintain structured event workflows from accurately gathering customer vision to execution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments with varying event needs
- Level 1 AZ Fingerprint Clearance (or ability to obtain)
