Position
We are seeking a motivated A&R Scout Intern to join our team for academic credit. This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in music business, artist discovery, digital marketing, data analysis, and talent scouting.
The intern will play an active role in identifying emerging artists and trends across platforms such as Tik Tok, Spotify, You Tube, Instagram, and Sound Cloud while gaining hands‑on experience in modern A&R.
Responsibilities- Discover and evaluate emerging artists across social and streaming platforms
- Monitor Tik Tok, Spotify, You Tube, Instagram, and other digital ecosystems for breakout talent
- Build and maintain artist prospecting databases
- Track key artist metrics including monthly listeners, social growth, engagement rates, playlist support, and UGC activity
- Assist in preparing A&R reports and artist evaluations
- Research music trends, genres, and developing scenes worldwide
- Identify viral sounds and emerging songs with commercial potential
- Support outreach efforts to artists, managers, and industry contacts
- Attend virtual A&R meetings and contribute recommendations
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program eligible for internship credit
- Passionate about discovering new music and artists before they break
- Strong understanding of Tik Tok, Spotify, You Tube, and music culture
- Excellent organizational and research skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, and digital research tools is a plus
- Previous experience running fan pages, playlists, music blogs, or social accounts is a plus
- Modern A&R strategy and artist discovery
- Streaming and social media analytics
- Record label and artist development operations
- Music marketing and release strategy
- Industry communication and artist outreach
- Data‑driven talent evaluation
- Type: Internship (College Credit)
- Location: Remote
- Schedule: Flexible (10–15 hours per week)
- Compensation: Academic credit only
- Duration: Fall, Spring, or Summer semester
