Position: 2nd Lien Recovery Consultant (On-Site)

Primary Function

The 2nd Lien Recovery Consultant is responsible for locating and contacting homeowners across the country to collect on charged off unsecured and secured mortgage debt.

Principal Duties
  • Negotiate repayments on defaulted mortgage debt. *
  • Re-establish and maintain communication with customers to minimize company loss. *
  • Achieve various numeric standards and goals for servicing accounts without sacrificing quality of service while adhering to state and federal (FDCPA/CFPB) guidelines and constantly representing the Company in a professional manner. *
  • Contact borrowers to cure delinquency, set up payment arrangements. *
  • Identify and recommend optimal workout strategies, as necessary. *
  • Utilize all available skip tracing tools to locate our borrowers whose current contact information is inaccurate. *
  • Ensure all calls and loss mitigation efforts are compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Use manual and dialer strategies to contact delinquent homeowners. *
  • Address any homeowner question or concern. Handle escalated files appropriately by providing and articulate and complete response. *
  • Contact homeowners to cure delinquency, this can be a blend of manual and automated calling strategies. *
  • Must be able to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication. *
  • Review and maintain their personal negotiating worklist. *
  • Knowledgeable in different systems, LMS and DA Tool*
  • Contribute to the progress of the department by understanding. *
  • Analyze and underwrite the borrower’s income through review of documents which include, but are not limited to, financial statements, tax returns, credit reports to determine and recommend the most feasible and appropriate solution for the homeowner. *
  • Willing to work overtime as needed. *
  • Use the delegated authority tool and work with client matrices regarding workout strategies. *
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience within collections and loss mitigation.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Familiarity with tracking databases and the maneuvering around the Internet
  • Familiarity with loan terminology, rights, and processes
  • Excellent work ethic, high productivity, and acute attention to detail
  • Strong numeric aptitude, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Persuasive and professional communication skills
  • Must have a very strong work ethic.
