Overview:Senior Payroll Compliance Analyst in the Compensation Operations Department. Responsibilities include processing U.S. multi‑state and Canadian multi‑province payrolls and tax remittances, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining accuracy and timeliness, collaborating with HR, Legal, Finance, and product teams, and supporting the transition to a new payroll system.
What you'll do (Responsibilities):- Oversee payroll compliance and tax operations across multiple jurisdictions, optimize compliance structures, and act as primary backup for payroll expertise.
- Drive automation, process optimization, and data strategy initiatives to improve payroll compliance, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Represent payroll in strategic discussions, assess impacts of new business strategies and regulatory changes, and partner with external agencies to mitigate risks.
- Establish and maintain payroll tax controls, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements in collaboration with audit, risk management, and finance teams.
- Act as informal leader within payroll, mentoring associates, managing service escalations, and ensuring coverage for business continuity.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 6 years of payroll experience with exposure to payroll tax, compliance, data analysis, and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of data analytics, reporting tools, and compliance and governance frameworks.
- Experience with automation tools, HCM/ERP implementations, and financial reconciliations.
- Ability to analyze payroll trends and develop data‑driven strategies for process improvements.
- Preferred certifications:
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP);
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Location & Work Arrangement:Office presence four days per week (if living within commuting distance of Tempe, AZ or St. Louis, MO) starting June 1 2026. Hybrid and remote options may be considered based on business needs.
Salary:$86,300 – $146,700
