OverviewWe are looking for a Payroll Analyst to join our Payroll team within the Compensation Operations Department. Our group is responsible for processing US multi‑state and Canadian multi‑province payrolls and tax remittance while reporting in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner. We partner with HR, Legal, Finance, and others to ensure we keep pace with ever changing rules and regulations while providing a high‑class user experience.
We also collaborate with Product Teams to move from strategy to execution, designing and enhancing business processes with simplicity and transparency to create capacity for our business areas to move the business forward. This role owns moderate to complex projects tied to key payroll processing functions that finalize net pay for checks in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and other regulatory statutes & tax compliance functions to deliver tax forms to our associates.
- Payroll Calculations & Reporting – Ensure accurate system calculations and timely reporting of US and Canadian payrolls, respond to questions and special requests from associates and regulatory agencies, research payroll laws and regulations, create projections, general ledger reconciliations, and special reports for leadership.
- Systems & Controls – Develop and execute internal controls for accurate payroll reporting and compliance, balance operational and system priorities, remove obstacles for team members to meet payroll deadlines, and ensure financial integrity of payroll programs; includes reviewing automated audit controls and payroll journal entries.
- Continuous Improvement – Recommend, document, and support implementation of process improvements for payroll procedures through detailed research and analysis; support planning and execution of complex projects while adhering to internal/external deadlines.
- Collaboration – Handle confidential compensation information for every associate in the US and Canada, partner with department leaders and associates to ensure strategic payroll initiatives are implemented successfully.

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

Education & Certifications- Bachelor’s degree is required with an emphasis in Accountancy, Finance, or related field strongly preferred.
- Preferred certifications:
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), CAN Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance, or related field with public accounting experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on intermediate to advanced Excel experience navigating and controlling large datasets.
- Experience working within payroll systems and processes including People Soft, ADP, and time & labor system experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and cross‑functionally.
