MSPBNA is seeking to hire a Vice President, Mortgage Banker for the Morgan Stanley Home Loans team. A Mortgage Banker (MB) is responsible for using in‑depth industry knowledge and experience to support Financial Advisors and their clients throughout the mortgage origination process by serving as the single point of contact, delivering desired mortgage solutions and ensuring a seamless client experience from application to closing.

The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in jumbo mortgages, complex income and assets and a high‑level affinity for engaging with affluent clients and their advisors. The role requires high energy, ownership and a collaborative proactive approach.

Position can be based in a Wealth Management Branch Office, Dallas, TX, Tempe, AZ or Purchase, NY.

Job Description / Position Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for client interactions, internal and external business partners including Financial Advisors, their clients, and Private Bankers.
  • Provide consultation and advise Morgan Stanley on the credit risk of high‑net‑worth clients (high loan amounts and complex income, asset, and vesting scenarios) with appropriate product and pricing options.
  • Analyze client finances to provide tailored advice on loan products and other financial solutions.
  • Manage client/FA/PB expectations and communication.
  • Coordinate with and oversee underwriting and credit risk partners to ensure timely closings.
  • Obtain, analyze, and validate all loan processing documents such as complex income, asset, credit, appraisal, insurance, and title documents to satisfy underwriting conditions and product/pricing negotiations.
  • Issue conditional pre‑approval letters within policy framework while identifying appropriate lending guidelines and conditions for loan approval.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for loans in process; provide alternative solutions and determine escalation when necessary.
  • Manage inbound/outbound queue, call campaigns, and bank initiatives with rigorous client follow‑up.
  • Effectively manage a complex pipeline that includes Ultra High Net Worth and Private Wealth Management mortgage transactions.
  • Supervise an individual or team of Associate Mortgage Bankers, assessing performance, holding employees accountable and recommending advancement, compensation or performance management to the Mortgage Banker Manager.
  • Provide training and guidance to Associate Mortgage Bankers, partners and peers.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Wealth Management/Private Bank mortgage lending experience.
  • Current position of Vice President (or equivalent) or higher.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Eligibility to work for an FDIC‑insured institution and ability to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) as a mortgage loan originator.
